Dear Food Safety Professional,
I am honored to be involved in AAFP and very thankful for the opportunity to lead the organization this year. As President I hope to foster improved discussions and relationships between regulatory and industry. I feel it is important for regulatory and industry to further improve relationships so we can provide the best food safety possible. FSMA is going to drive more regulatory and industry cooperation, so our relationship is critical for safer food. Regulatory will be very visible as FSMA continues to be implemented. Our Chapter continues to improve and evolve with the emerging issues surrounding Food Safety. Our goal at AAFP is to be a chapter that is worthy of the Food Safety sector in Arkansas. Our state’s food processing and food safety reaches far beyond Arkansas and the region; because of the products and decisions by global entities headquartered in our state. Arkansas was featured in Food Quality and Safety magazine as a leading influence on Food Safety. AAFP was prominently visible in the article as a driving force in Arkansas. We help lead our State’s food safety professionals to achieve the highest impact at home and beyond Arkansas. Last year was our best conference with almost 300 members present to attend our best roster of Speakers to date. We were honored to offer a rare FBI Food Defense Workshop that allowed attendees to earn Continuing Education CEUs for the conference as well as the FBI certification. We hope to see you at this year’s conference in September.
President of the Arkansas Association of Food Protection
