Dear Food Safety Professional,

The Arkansas Association for Food Protection (AAFP) and the Oklahoma Chapter (OKAFP) are excited to update the 2017 conference agenda sessions and speakers to cover topics such as:

  • FSMA- sanitary transport, produce, etc.
  • Whole Genome Sequencing led by the CDC
  • Food Defense by FBI
  • Pet Food/Low Moisture Foods/Animal Feed
  • Animal Health-probiotics, prebiotics, antimicrobials, etc.
  •  Emerging Issues- Walmart to present “Block Chain”, National Chicken Council emerging issues, foreign materials, surrogate organisms for validation/verification

You may have read our recent email details of the WGS and Petfood/Low Moisture Foods sessions (, but we wanted to remind everyone of the full scope of subjects. With this conference and other workshops, we make an effort to keep our food safety professionals informed of their impact at home and beyond Arkansas and Oklahoma. We have our impressive group of vendors that will also present their respective technology or service.   Last year was a great conference with about 300 in attendance, so be sure to register today for this amazing line up of speakers and presentations.

The Arkansas Association of Food Protection (AAFP) is a chapter of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP).  AAFP is rare in that we have the world’s largest retailer/grocer, the largest meat company, and leading distribution/refrigerated transport companies headquartered within our state. We have an impressive and diverse group of food processors, produce, poultry, and livestock growers located around the state ranging from produce, fruit, prepared meals, canned foods, frozen foods, juices, wine, meat, sliced meats, etc.  AAFP has nationally relevant decision makers which is critical if you want to market a new product.

Once you attend our annual conference, you will understand why AAFP is an award winning chapter of IAFP. We are a premier farm-to-fork region with some of the world’s largest companies in food safety, thus AAFP has the obligation to explore and provide cutting edge research about emerging pathogen and adulterant issues.  Please respond with any questions
